Training Locations
General
The club has an indoor and outdoor range. Shooting at the targets is only permitted for club members. Outsiders must make separate arrangements with the club for the use of the targets foams - we charge a target fee of 5 euros/time. Inquiries to: kokeilut@puijonjousi.fi.
At the Puijon Jousi archery ranges, bows weighing up to 60 pounds may be used, and only round, so-called target tips may be used for shooting at target foams. The use of cutting tips is prohibited.
Indoor Range
In winter, we use the Kotkankallio shelter at Niiralankatu 32. The archery range is at the end of the cave, and the iron gate can only be entered with an access token. During the group's practice times, the instructor lets you in through the front door.
There are only a few parking spaces in front of the shelter. More parking spaces can be found behind the nearby Sale. There are free parking spaces in the yard of the first building at Novapolis Viestikatu 1 after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
In winter, from September to early May, the club's hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 pm and Sunday from 2-4 pm. Tuesday is a mentoring session, meaning you can get guidance on request.

Outdoor Range
In the summer, we have the Puijo archery range. The area is a sand field, which is in the Puijo sports area between Suurmäentie and Puijonrinteentie, towards the city from the ski stadium.
There are plenty of parking spaces near the field, remember the parking disc.
The outdoor field is free for club members to use, as long as the rules of use are followed. In the summer, i.e. from the beginning of May to the beginning of September, mentoring is on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm.
Rules for Using the Puijon Jousi Outdoor Shooting Range
Puijon Jousi members undertake to follow these rules when practicing on the outdoor range.
- The first adult (18 years or older) Puijon Jousi member to practice acts as the exercise supervisor. He or she wears the sleeve badge intended for the supervisor. The instructions given by the supervisor are followed.
- When the range area is used for parking, e.g. due to a baseball game, archery is prohibited.
- Persons not belonging to Puijon Jousi must agree with the authorities on the use of the range area. Persons not belonging to the club may not use the targets of Puijon Jousi or equipment on the range without the club's permission and the presence of a club member.
- The membership card must be kept visible during practice.
- Persons not belonging to the club can agree on separate instruction shifts with the instruction shift manager. Registrations are made to the email address ohjaus@puijonjousi.fi.
- "Shooting in progress" signs will be opened during the training. During the training, pedestrians and cyclists will be guided by barriers and signs to go around the shooting line. No pedestrians will be allowed over or past the barriers. "Shooting in progress" signs will be covered after the training has ended.
- The use of intoxicants and moving around the range while intoxicated is prohibited.
- Smoking is prohibited on the range. Smoking is permitted outside the range area, in the smoking area at the back of the field. Cigarette butts must be thrown into the container reserved for them.
- Personal waste and garbage must be taken away when leaving the training. Club equipment and targets used in the training must be returned to the storage room in the same place from which they were taken.
- Bows and arrows permitted in competitions under the Finnish Archery Association may be used on the range. The maximum permitted force of the compound bow is 60 pounds.
- Broken equipment must be reported to the board members as soon as possible, either during training or to info@puijonjousi.fi.
- Notices regarding the use of the range intended for club members are posted on the notice board in the outdoor storage area.
- Unauthorized presence on the range during training is prohibited.
- Vandalism caused to Puijon Jousi's property or the range area must be reported to the authorities.
